7 feasts of Israel

The 1st 4 of the 7 Feasts of Israel have already been fulfilled. They were fulfilled in spectacular fashion. They were fulfilled right on the auspicious Hebrew calendar dates on which they have been celebrated in times past, the same dates that will be celebrated forever more.

The 3 spring feasts were fulfilled by Jesus our Saviour. And the summer Feast of Pentecost was fulfilled as well. It was fulfilled by the Holy Spirit 2,000 years ago. Here is the situation so far.

1. Passover (Pesach - Good Friday) 1st Month 14th ALREADY FULFILLED ~ MAJOR HOLIDAY! (By Jesus/Yeshua at His crucifixion on Nisan 14 in the spring of 32 A.D.)

2. Feast of Unleavened Bread – 1st Month 15th to 21st ALREADY FULFILLED! (By Jesus/Yeshua at His burial in the tomb on Nisan 15 in the spring of 32 A.D.)

3. Feast of Firstfruits (Easter) 1st Month 17th ALREADY FULFILLED! (By Jesus/Yeshua at His Resurrection on Nisan 17 in the spring of 32 A.D.)

4. Feast of Pentecost/Feast of Weeks/Feast of Harvest (Shavuot in Hebrew - gift of the Holy Spirit) ~ 3rd Month 6th & 7th MAJOR HOLIDAY (Birthday of the Church) ALREADY FULFILLED! (By the Holy Spirit on the Day of Pentecost on Sivan 6 (6th & 7th outside of Israel) in the summer of 32 A.D.)

About the 6th Day in the Bible

Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good. So the evening and the morning were the 6th day...Genesis 1:31

Then the Lord said to Moses, "I will rain down bread from heaven for you. The people are to go out each day and gather enough for that day. In this way I will test them and see whether they will follow my instructions. On the 6th day they are to prepare what they bring in, and that is to be twice as much as they gather on the other days…"...exodus 16.4

And it shall be on the 6th day that they shall prepare what they bring in, and it shall be twice as much as they gather daily...Exodus 16:5

And so it was, on the 6th day, [that] they gathered twice as much bread, 2 omers for each one. And all the rulers of the congregation came and told Moses...Exodus 16:22

See! For the LORD has given you the Sabbath; therefore He gives you on the 6th day bread for 2 days. Let every man remain in his place; let no man go out of his place on the 7th day (Saturday is Sabbath = the 7th day = Rest Day=Worship God)...Exodus 16:29

6 days you shall gather it (work), but on the 7th day, the Sabbath, there will be none to gather (because it has attained PERFECTION; it's Sabbath, a day set aside to worship God)...Exodus 16:26

Work shall be done for 6 days, but the 7th day shall be a holy day for you, a Sabbath of rest to the LORD...Exodus 35:2

About the 6th Year

And the Lord spoke to Moses on Mount Sinai, saying, "Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them: "When you come into the land which I give you, then the land shall keep a Sabbath to the Lord. 6 years you shall sow your field, and 6 years you shall prune your vineyard, and gather its fruit...Leviticus 25:1-3

Then I will command My blessings on you in the 6th year, and it will bring forth produce enough for 3 years. And you shall sow in the 8th year, and eat old produce until the 9th year; until its produce comes in, you shall eat of the old harvest...Leviticus 25:21

(A gap of 2000 years or so has allowed the Light of Israel to go forth into the nations for the Gentiles to be evangelized)

Now here come the Autumn Feasts WAITING to be fulfilled! They are probably just up ahead..

5. The Feast of Trumpet (THE RAPTURE) = (Rosh Hashanah in Hebrew) = Israel's New Year = Head of the Year 7th Month 1st Unfulfilled ....(as of yet). An epic event will unfold on the new moon of Tishrei on a future Jewish New Year. Tishrei 1st

"In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed" (1 Corinthians 15:52).

For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven, with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first...1 Thessalonians 4:16

6. The Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur in Hebrew) 7th Month 10th Unfulfilled ....(as of yet). Tishrei 10

7. The Feast of Tabernacles (Sukkot in Hebrew) – 7th Month 15th to 21st MAJOR HOLIDAYS Unfulfilled ....(as of yet). Tishrei 15 will come five days after that final epic Day of Atonement. This will mark the coming of Messiah to tabernacle with His covenant people. Thus begins the long awaited 1000 year Millennium of Messiah.

THE SEASON OF OUR JOY/REJOICING (Feast of Tabernacles/Sukkot)

Sukkot (Feast of Tabernacles) is the conclusion of the Jewish Fall Holidays and the last of the 3 Shelosh Regalim (the 3 annual pilgrimage festivals: Pesach (Passover), Shavuot (Feast of Pentecost) and Sukkot (Feast of Tabernacles).

It is interesting to compare the use of words relating to simchah (JOY) in the description of the 3 festivals. Regarding Pesach, the word simchah DOES NOT appear AT ALL; regarding SHAVUOT, it appears Only Once; but regarding SUKKOT, simchah (JOY) appears SEVERAL TIMES.

IN FACT, IN ANCIENT ISRAEL, THE JOY OF SUKKOT WAS SO GREAT THAT IT BECAME KNOWN SIMPLY AS "THE FEAST"

From an agricultural perspective in ancient Israel,

Pesach (Passover) correspond to the planting season,

Shavuot (Feast of Pentecost/Festival of Harvest/Festival of Weeks/Day of Firstfruits/The Firstfruit of the Wheat/The Day of Assembly/The season of the giving of the Torah) correspond to the Grain HARVEST (Grain is used in the old testament as a symbol of Abundance & Prosperity. In Deuteronomy 11:14, grain is mentioned as a gift from God; in Deuteronomy 18:4, it is described as an offering of obedience; and in Deuteronomy 28:51, the loss of grain is foretold as a warning of Israel's destruction),

and Sukkot (Feast of Tabernacles/Ingathering) corresponds to the Fruit HARVEST.. When you planted your crops in Spring, you DO NOT YET REJOICE because you were uncertain about how the harvest will turn out.

And when you have harvested your grain at the start of summer (Shavuot), you might have rejoiced that you now have BREAD in your hand, but you would still be uncertain about the SUCCESS of your Fruit crops.

7 kinds of Fruits of the Promised Land (Israel)

1. wheat = grain (symbol of God's goodness and provision...Psalm 81:16)

2. barley

3. grapes

4. figs

5. pomegranates (200 ornamental pomegranates decorated each of the 2 free-standing pillars in King Solomon's temple (King Solomon ~ the richest man ever lived since creation)...2 Chronicles 3:16 (Jachin ~ right hand pillar and Boaz ~ left hand pillar)

Length of days is in her right hand, in her left hand riches and honor...Proverbs 3:16

TOTAL JOY would come AFTER YOU HAD HARVESTED ALL OF YOUR CROPS in the Fall, and thereby received provision for the coming year from the Lord.

From a spiritual perspective, Sukkot corresponds to the joy of knowing all your sins were forgiven (during Yom Kippur - Day of Atonement), and also recalls God's miraculous provision and care after the deliverance from bondage in Egypt. Today Sukkot is a time to remember the Sheltering Presence and Provision for us for the start of the New Year (Feast of Trumpets).

You shall observe the Feast of Tabernacles 7 days, when you have gathered from your threshing floor (Grain Harvest from Shavuot) and from your winepress (Grapes from the Fruit Harvest). And you shall REJOICE in your feast.....7 days you shall keep a sacred feast to the Lord your God in the place which the Lord chooses, because the Lord your God will bless you in your produce and in ALL the work of your hands, so that you surely REJOICE (not maybe but Surely)...Deuteronomy 16:13-15
